Domaine Jules Desjourneys

The owner of Domaine Jules Desjourneys is Fabien Duperray, fine connoisseur of Burgundy and Beaujolais terroirs. Fabien Duperray has distributed some of the finest estates of Burgundy (such as Arnaud Ente, Jean-Yves Bizot, Coche-Dury, Roumier) for over 25 years, but until 2007 he had no vineyards of his own. He finally turned his hand to winemaking in 2007 when he took the opportunity to acquire some small parcels of very old vines in Fleurie and Moulin‐à‐Vent (Beaujolais) with the ambition of making the greatest wine possible. The vines are all more than 70 years old with most of them clocking in over 100 years in age. Within a few years, he set up a domain that has turned out to already be iconic 15 years later in Beaujolais and overall Burgundy. Domaine Jules Desjourneys produces, vintage after vintage, wines of a rare density, even unknown for the region.
